part of the ongoing objet d'art collection, this sweet little wren rests in a gorgeous handwoven wood and fiber hanging frame from the late 1800s - early 1900s. the frame, originally from France, is in fantastic condition given its age. general wear has provided the antique frame with a lovely patina. the greens and toffee-tones of the frame are picked up in the wren painting.

what makes this special: besides the uniqueness of the frame, the wren is mixed materials painted on hand carved birch wood. the frame was originally crafted for a cabinet card photograph. materials include vintage postage stamps and paper, book lining from the 1800s, handwritten letters from the 1800s.
