this two birds sparrow pair original painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of irregularly-shaped reclaimed wood. i buy all of my wood from a local furniture maker, and am never sure what he is going to sell me, which adds to the creative inspiration. this particular piece is a nice block of wood with a lot of great texture. the abstract, mixed media painting features a pair of sparrows. my studio is surrounded by them year-round-they are always there to inspire!

work is done by hand from start to finish. the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. the sides of the painting are soft clay green. materials include vintage paper, fabric, thread, antique handwritten letters and postage, and copper leaf.

size is approximately 6.5" in width, and 8" in height. the painting is about 1.5" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
