inspired by the happy, social little black capped chickadees who dance about outside my studio all year 'round.

this original small chickadee on branch collage painting in a natural grain wood shadow box frame is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hook for immediate wall display. this mixed media painting is done on textured, handmade watercolor paper. the painting has been matted in white matting and framed under clear acrylic.

materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. the painting size is approximately 3.25x4.5", and can be readily removed from the mat and frame. the frame is a lovely, well-designed shadow box frame in natural wood grain. frame comes with hanging supplies and a removable peg for flat surface display.

in addition to the handmade watercolor paper base, materials include natural-dyed sashiko thread, vintage postage stamps and antique handwritten letters from the 1800's. the bird and branches are mixed media paintings on vellum.

overall size is approximately 4" in width, and 5" in height. the painting is about 1" in depth. artwork can be easily re-framed, however i recommend always framing the art under glass. please display the painting in indirect light to protect the art.
