this original red fox painting on wood in antique hand carved wooden hinged door frame ornate objet d' art is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. this mixed media painting is done on carved birch wood and framed in an antique black forest hand carved frame with hinged doors. frame is likely from the 1900's or earlier.

materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. materials include antique postal stamps, copper leaf and handwritten letters from the 1800's. this little fox is safely tucked away in the woods.

overall size when the frame doors are closed is approximately 4" in width, and 9" in height. the painting is fragile, so i recommend handling with care. due to its age the right front door is a bit wobbly. an easel frame with a hand carved wood stand for flat surface display-this piece is very lovely. please display the painting in indirect light to protect the art.
