part of my objet d'art series: this original goldfinch bird painting has a hanging hook for immediate wall display. this mixed media painting is done on hand carved birch wood and is framed in a Victorian era wood floral easel frame. the age of the floral frame provides lovely patina and texture.

materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. materials include handwritten letters from the 1800's, vintage paper, antique paper, and vintage postage stamps.

in the objet d'art series, the painting and the frame are considered one piece. overall size is 5" in width and 9" in height. depth is .5". i've added a new wood backing to the frame, but kept the lovely metal easel. the painting has been signed on the back.

this goldfinch is the perfect addition to a soft, soothing space. a great gift for antique seekers, avid gardeners and bird watchers, goldfinch fans or nature enthusiasts.
