this original flying bird barn swallow on gold textural painting is done on a piece of reclaimed wood, and can be displayed on a flat surface. it also has a hook for immediate wall display. i buy my reclaimed wood from a local furniture maker, giving me the opportunity to give new life to something that would have otherwise been discarded. this vintage style, hopeful painting has a lot of beautiful layers and texture, including natural dyed sashiko thread, vintage paper, antique postage stamps and antique handwritten letters. the mixed materials flying barn swallow is painted on vellum and applied to a layered background of vintage paper, antique letters and gold leaf.

the materials are applied layer by layer, making the painting detailed and textured. the painting has been finished so you can handle it safely. display on its own or buy a bunch to display together as a collection.

size is approximately 4.75" in width, 10" in height and 1" in depth. sides and bottom are layered antique rose and brushed brown. top is 18 karat gold leaf and brushed gold paint.
