inspired by the happy, social little black capped chickadees who dance about outside my studio all year 'round.

this original chickadee on branch collage painting in a handcrafted wood frame is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hook for immediate wall display. this mixed media painting is done on textured, handmade watercolor paper. the painting has been matted in archival antique white custom matting and framed under glass.

materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. the painting size is approximately 3x4.5", and can be readily removed from the frame. use caution if removing the mat. the frame is handcrafted by US-based company, Signed & Numbered. it has a nice, distressed vintage style that is meant to have a rustic aesthetic. frame is made out of wood in distressed taupe tone. frame comes with a removable peg for flat surface display.

in addition to the handmade watercolor paper base, materials include contemporary paper, natural-dyed sashiko thread, vintage postage stamps, antique handwritten letters. the bird and branches are mixed media paintings on vellum.

overall size is approximately 7.5" in width, and 9.5" in height. the painting is about .75" in depth. artwork can be easily re-framed, however i recommend always framing the art under glass. please display the painting in indirect light to protect the art.
