this original small chickadee bird on branch in flowers painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of irregularly-shaped reclaimed wood which resembles a book. i buy all of my wood from a local furniture maker, and am never sure what he is going to sell me, which adds to the creative inspiration.

the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. sides of this painting are the deep blue of the background on the top and bottom. the left-hand side is layered periwinkle and lilac. and the right-hand side is striped lines of the overall painting palette: gold, coral, lilac...

size is approximately 7" in width, and 7.5" in height. the painting is about 1.25" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
