this original chickadee bird on branch colorful abstract landscape painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this mixed media, textural work is done on a piece of reclaimed wood-this is a lovely thick wood block. i buy all my wood from a local furniture maker. i'm never sure what he is going to give me, which adds to the creative challenge and inspiration!

the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. sides of the painting are layered soft gray. materials include antique handwritten letters, vintage postage and vintage paper. the painting has a lot of nice texture.

size is approximately 6.25" in width and 14.75" in height. about 1.5" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
