this original, textural, mixed media painting of a great horned owl is done on a piece of gorgeous, natural edge wood from a 1700s farm. this little collage painting has a lot of beautiful patina and texture.

what makes this artwork special: the great horned owl is painted on antique cotton fabric and set on gold leaf and a handwritten letter-both from the 1800s. additional materials are vintage postage stamp, antique paper, and pieces of handwritten letters from the 1800s.

due to the depth and density of the piece of wood, I could not add a hanging wire or hook. the painting comes with a handmade wood easel from a US-based Maker for flat-surface display. if you want to showcase your artwork on the wall, it is lightweight and can be easily hung with no-damage adhesive.

i recommend displaying the painting in indirect light to protect the artwork.

size is approximately 3.25" in width, and 4.75" in height. the painting is about .25" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
