this original common swift bird flying through a sunset sky is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of reclaimed wood. i buy all of my wood from a local furniture maker, and am never sure what he is going to sell me, which adds to the creative inspiration.

what makes this special: in addition to the texture and details of this thick piece of repurposed wood, additional texture and detailing include vintage paper, gold leaf, book lining from the 1800s, handwritten letters from the 1800s, and vintage postage stamp. this painting was inspired by my recent trip to Italy: watching the swifts swirl about in the sunset, chirping and soaring before settling for the night.

the background and sides of the painting reflect the sunset tones. the top is brushed antique rose, the left side is brushed coral and lilac, the bottom is brushed gold and green, and the right side is brushed sienna.

size is approximately 9" in width, and 13" in height. the painting is about 1.75" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
