part of a new series of collage paintings depicting peaceful places, this original flying bird with silver stars collage art is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging hook for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a wood panel.
materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. sides are soft, antiqued gray. materials include images on canvas that have been painted using inks, gouache and colored pencils, then stitched with sewing thread. additional materials are handwritten letters from the 1800s, vintage paper, and antique book lining pages from the 1800s, and antique postage stamps.
size is approximately 5" in width, and 5" in height. the painting is about 1.5" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
