the painting is created on hand carved birch wood. the frame is an Eastlake frame from the late 1800s. Eastlake Victorian picture frames were crafted using machine production, and became popular as aesthetic tastes shifted from the excessive ornamentation of earlier Victorian era decor into more simplified, geometric designs. the frame has a hook for wall display, along with a metal easel for flat-surface display.

materials include paper and handwritten letters from the 1800s, along with gold leaf. size of the painting is approximately 5.25" in width, and 7.25" in height. the frame is the painting is approximately 11" at its tallest point, 7" in width, and .5" in depth.
