this original yellow bird soft tones vintage paper flowers gold painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of irregularly-shaped reclaimed wood. i buy all of my wood from a local furniture maker, and am never sure what he is going to sell me, which adds to the creative inspiration. this particular piece is wider at the base, and is a nice sturdy slab of furniture-grade wood.

materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. sides are layered ochre, soft gold and bright gold. materials include antique handwritten letters, copper leaf, vintage paper and vintage postage stamps. the overall tone of the painting is bright, airy, soft, peaceful, and soothing. imagine lazily resting in the grass on a sunshiny summer day, watching the flowers bob in the gentle breeze and life unfold around you!

size is approximately 10.5" in width at the base, and 12.25" in height. the painting is about .75" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
