this original little cute raccoon painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging hook for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a birch wood block. i occasionally use birch wood for its clean lines and lightweight durability. this particular piece features a raccoon that occasionally naps outside my studio. there used to be a mama raccoon with her little ones, and i like to think this is one of her offspring visiting their "childhood home".

work is done by hand from start to finish. the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. the sides of the painting are layered tones of antique rose and pale lilac. materials include antique postage and handwritten antique letters.

size is approximately 4" in width, and 4" in height. the painting is about 1.5" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
