a celebration of sunshine and summer!

this original blue bird in a colorful garden of plants and flowers painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of irregularly-shaped reclaimed wood. i buy all of my wood from a local furniture maker, and am never sure what he is going to sell me, which adds to the creative inspiration. this particular piece has a lot of nice angles to make it a whimsical, sculptural artwork.

unlike a lot of artwork offered today, my work is done by hand from start to finish. the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. left-side and bottom of the painting are layered sky and baby blue. the right-side is a continuation of the garden. top is striped with the color palette of the overall work.

size is approximately 7" in width, and 7.75" in height. the painting is about 1.5" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
