soaring through the silver stars...

this original barn owl bird night sky stars is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of reclaimed wood. i buy all of my wood from a local furniture maker, and am never sure what he is going to sell me, which adds to the creative inspiration.

the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. the barn owl flies through a charcoal gray sky. sides are warm charcoal gray. materials include vintage paper, copper leaf, natural-dyed sashiko thread, antique handwritten letters, and antique stamps.

size is approximately 5.5" in width and 15.25" in height. the painting is about 1" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
